Meet Our Founder

Hi, my name is Adri, and I am the founder of the Kindness Crates program! I live with multiple chronic illnesses/disabilities, and depend on medical devices and medications in order to stay alive.  I first got sick when I was in sixth grade, but things with my health really took a nosedive at the beginning of my senior year of highschool in 2020.

Now, at 19 years old, I am running the Kindness Crates Program from my small bedroom; as hospitalizations, medical procedures, and doctor’s appointments fill my life.

The life of illness is painful, isolating, and lonely. That is why I started the Kindness Crates program! Kindness Crates are designed for older children and teens who, like me, battle illness or a long term medical condition.

My hope is that by receiving a Kindness Crate, these kids will know that no matter what happens or what they go through, that they are loved, they are never alone, they can do hard things, and that there is always hope.

A huge part of how I cope with my illness is helping others. Not as an act of pity, but rather, an act of kindness. That’s where the name “Kindness Crates” came from! Because of this, each Kindness Crate includes a challenge inside; a challenge for each recipient to do something kind for someone else too. Because even small acts of kindness make a big difference!
